The KKG Exec-last planning meeting of the summer
This week we have Michelle J. Iseman aka Queen Schmooze (KKG Exec) as our Moderator/Host:
We can always use some down time to rest and relax and there is no better way to do that than to pull up a seat beside the water. The KKG Exec is holding their last planning meeting of the summer at Westboro Beach (Kitchisippi Lookout) on the Ottawa Parkway at Moe's on the Beach.
We welcome new and returning members to join the exec and give us new ideas for upcoming meetings. We try to blend a mix of How To's with relevant Job related information. The last Tuesday of the month is generally reserved for Job Day where we try to get in a company to talk about their needs and hiring practices.
Directions to the beach via WESTBORO
To get to Westboro Beach, take the Queensway eastbound to the Maitland exit. Keep right on Maitland and head north to Carling Avenue. Turn right on Carling and proceed to Churchill Avenue which is the 2nd stop light. Turn left onto Churchill. When you get to Richmond Road you have to turn RIGHT because of construction on Churchill. Drive right on Richmond to Tweedsmuir Avenue. Take a left on Tweedsmuir and then a left onto Scott Street. Proceed on Scott Street until you hit the other side of Churchill. Turn right on Churchill, then left at Lanark Avenue. Drive all the way down Lanark until you come to the fence and the parking area. Park, walk though the opening in the fence, under the bridge along the pedestrian walkway and head towards the pyamid-like pavillion. Moe's is on the deck of the pavillion where the umbrellas are located beside the water. Just plunk yourself down and enjoy.
Directions from the OTTAWA PARKWAY
Take the Queensway eastbound to Pinecrest/Greenbank. Get off the highway and go north (left) onto Pinecrest. Take a right onto Richmond Road and then follow that until Carling Avenue. Turn right onto Carling and proceed to the entrance to the Ottawa Parkway. Turn right onto the Ottawa Parkway and follow it along until you see the sign for the parking lot at Kitchisippi Lookout. Kitchisippi Lookout is before Island Park Drive and will be located on your left. Turn left into the parking lot, park, follow the path down to the pavillion and find the umbrellas where the exec will be meeting. Same as above - plunk yourself down and enjoy.
The more members of the exec we have means that we can get a lot more forward planning done with new members helping to moderate meetings. The job is very easy and looks great on your resume!
